I don't know. I know you don't like Dennis much, but he's more like Liverpool than any of the rest of them. Used to have a lot of flair and style, won everything in sight in the 70s and 80s, then kind of drifted off in the 90s. Looked poised for a big resurgence (NYYC), and dropped the ball. Looks like our team capsule in a nutshell.

The Kiwis are more like the Gunners. Didn't do much of squat for the longest time, came out in the early 90s like a house on fire, and started winning left and right through the late 90s early 00s.

I fully agree with your Alinghi comparison. Before this year I would have found it hard to believe that one syndicate could draw such universal distaste from the yachting community.

Seattle’s a great place to sail and race. I worked foredeck on our quarter tonner [25 feet] At 6-2 and 220lb we raced bow down a lot!
Love America’s Cup, Love NZ, my two daughters are kiwis and send me all the goodies. So I wear my all black shirts with the silver fern logo and their AC cap.
Got mixed feelings about the cup moving..like where the hell are they going to race it, as well as the sellout buy the unprincipled principles…!

Yes, that's exactly what they intend.
"The regatta format will include pre-regattas beginning as early as the summer of 2003, and include fleet races involving the Defender before the America’s Cup proper.
The Protocol envisions the America’s Cup beginning with a fleet race to determine (along with the results of previous regattas) seeding for a Round Robin elimination series. At least the top eight Challengers will survive the Round Robins and advance through to a knock-out series to select the eventual Challenger."

I usually set up the recorder when I go out to work and there were 3 games that day. Lazio vs Wisla.
The Scum vs the Thugs, as someone eloquently billed ManU and Leeds.
And West Ham vs Spurs. I screwed up on the start time and it started in the 40th minute.
