I have a modem on the 2nd floor and I want to bring wired internet to my basement (I already know how to do the wireless). The only thing I could think of is run ethernet wire all the way down with a router. Is there a better and/or cheaper way to do this?I used homeplugs, they are maybe a little pricey but they are absolutley a doddle to install, and perform better than wireless.
There are many diferrent brands, and you can mix and match.
the best thing is install a router and get more connection from single modem connection that will be better. i think you better go with wire because wire is faster then wireless and no problem It depends on the price of the cable.
You could go with Wireless N devices if they match brands.
I would go with the cable if you are comfortable.Cheaper way to get connected - is use Wireless, you get cheaper wireless connector in market. try that using. cant guaranteee the performance and its realiablity
